Mar 13,  · Slow Turning was the first album by John that got my attention, although it took awhile for it to really register. Great from start to finish. John Hiatt - Paper Thin (Live at Farm Aid

“Slow Turning” by John Hiatt appears on his ninth studio album of the same name – It’s a life story song with a broad brush. It focuses on learning life’s lessons about.

Rolling Stone. Slow Turning was singer-songwriter John Hiatt 's ninth album, released in It provided Hiatt's only significant radio hit with the title track, which features the memorable line "I'm yelling at the kids in the back, 'cause they're banging like Charlie Watts ". The single "Slow Turning" was also featured in the motion picture drama The Rookie which starred Dennis Quaid.

Sporting such features as Slow Turning originally released in , this vinyl is a transfer from the original flat assembly on ½' album tape. Remastered by the legendary Ron McMaster at Capitol Records, all mastering was reviewed and approved by John Hiatt himself., UMA have again proved why they are so .

Slow Turning is another excellent album from John Hiatt and probably his best after Bring the Family. Just like that album, every tune here is very good and a few of them are among his best songs. The title track and "Paper Thin" are strong tracks that got a little radio play back in the day and the excellent "Tennessee Plates" reached a lot of.
