I'm not sure what "Vimster" (the only other reviewer as of 5/7/11) was listening to when he wrote his review, but this is a delicious bit of IDM to enjoy.4/5().

    µ-Ziq - Royal Astronomy. Label: Hut Recordings, Virgin Catalog#: CDHUT 55, 8 2 9 Format: CD, Album Tango N' Vectif is the debut album of British IDM Producer µ-Ziq. It was re-released in as a Double CD with additional tracks that were on the original Vinyl release.

    Royal Astronomy is by far a classic µ-ziq album, for both the good and bad. Scaling and The Hwicci Song were great show cases of how orchestral music can be perpendicular to electronic craziness. The Motorbike Track is a prime example of Mike's love for nonsensical music arrangements, but the album does leave a haunting fault/5(29).

    Royal Astronomy is the most user-friendly Mu-Ziq record to date, with lovely diva vocals and more textures and hooks than ever to accompany both the frenetic, sped-up drill-and-bass tracks and the mellow, loopy ones. Mu-Ziq's rhythmic experiments are coated in whimsy and tempered with lyricism/5(32).

    An album by µ-Ziq is coming out on Planet Mu in April. Challenge Me Foolish, which is described as a "lost album," was recorded by Mike Paradinas around the release of Royal Astronomy, his LP for Virgin sub-label Hut Recordings. The track record heavily features Japanese vocalist Kazumi, who appears on five tunes.

    Dec 09,  · The debut album for µ-Ziq (paraphrased from the side of a blank tape and pronounced "mew-zeek") was 's Tango n' Vectif. The LP set the template for most of Paradinas' later work, with at times shattering metal-cage percussion underpinning a collection of rather beautiful melodies.
